Julia Davies studied Illustration in Manchester and Glass at Sunderland and worked as a graphic designer for several years in London and Birmingham. She is currently based in the Northumberland borders where she lives with her husband and two children.

Her work is inspired by the natural tranquility of her surroundings and is wide ranging in its subject matter. Each panel is conceived and produced separately by the artist following traditional processes including the cutting, painting, firing and leading of each piece. The majority of her work is self-initiated but she also welcomes commissions as freestanding panels or for specific architectural locations.
